This is the last communal appellation of the Mâconnais to be created in 1998. The vines are planted in clay-limestone soil, ideal for producing the quality of Viré-Clessé. This wine has a beautiful golden colour with pale green glints, a pleasant nose offering power and finesse and fully expressing aromas of white flowers such as acacia, exotic fruits, citrus and also vine peach. On the palate the Viré-Clessé attack is superb. This wine is supple and pleasant. We find flavours of exotic fruits but also honey. We can detect a few mineral notes which bring out the terroir of the Clessé soils. The Viré-Clessé is a very balanced wine with good persistence in the finish. Our vintages can be enjoyed straight away or will keep for 3 to 4 years. Wine and food pairings: starters, cooked fish or white meats.
