South West France WineA wine-growing estate located in Viella in the Gers department, 45 minutes from Pau, Tarbes and Mont de Marsan, the Château du Pouey is a family-run wine estate that has been growing vines for generations. In 2012, the estate enjoyed a new boom, under the impetus of Bastien Lannusse. Passionate about vines and wine, I built up the ideal vineyard, which I manage using sustainable and integrated vine growing methods and which is capable of expressing the richness and complexity of my terroir. I chose to add value to my estate, and produce quality wines each year. From my very first vintage, my wines have won awards. I want them to reflect my own personality: honest, authentic and generous. Our terroir is made up of clay-gravel soil and limestone-pebble soil, among the best in the appellation, and are south-east, south and south-west facing. These two very specific elements give our wines minerality, freshness and intensity. The climate benefits from the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenean chain. Our rainy, mild winters quickly turn to warm, dry summers followed by a beautiful autumn. This very particular climate gives our vineyard an exceptional ripening potential and guarantees our production of great wines.

A clear and deep ruby-red colour. The nose, powerful and fruity, is dominated by notes of red fruit, blackcurrant and spices. The palate, generous and balanced, is characterised by round tannins. The finish is very aromatic. A light and enthusiastic wine, to be enjoyed at will, amongst friends.
