The "Moulin-à-Vent", the Lord of Beaujolais, is oldest and most well-known of the 10 Beaujolais Crus. Its vines are located on a granitic hill with seams of manganese, which give the superb ageing ability like a Great Burgundy. It's a unique and recognised terroir. At the top of this small hill is a 15th century windmill, classed as an historic monument. -Moulin-à-Vent 2009 "Cuvée Vieilles Vignes": An exceptional vintage, very well structured, round and supple with surprising aromatic intensity. It is perfectly balanced with silky tannins and superb aromatic length in the mouth. It has a beautiful deep ruby-red colour. All entire press has raved about this vintage, and it will keep for another 10 years and more.
