      33500 Néac - Bordeaux

Château de la Croix Saint André is a family business that extends over 12 hectares on the famous Néac-Pomerol-Saint-Emilion terrace. The great diversity of soils gives a unique taste to our wines. The soils are clay-gravel and clay-silica with an iron concretion sub-soil: the famous "crasse de fer" (iron dross). The vine population on the estate is made up mainly of Merlot at 80%, with 20% Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon. The plot management, consisting of dividing the vineyard into plots according to soil type, grape variety and planting date, is practised on our estate in order to refine the wine and exploit all of its best features. The oenologist, Mr Pascal Pussevin, brought all his expertise to Château La Croix Saint André: respect for the fruit, careful extraction of all the flavours, accompanied by rigorous micro-oxygenation. The wine ageing takes place in barrels (12 months), keeping the wines in fine lees, with micro-oxygenation. Thanks to these careful practices, we obtain great balance between the wood and fruit.
