AOC Côtes d'Auvergne

Loire

A selection of old Gamay vines (between 50 and 100 years) on basaltic terroir. Small yields between 25 and 35 hl/ha. Manual harvesting. Traditional vinification with 20 days of vatting. Ageing in barrels for 14 months (20% new barrels). Light filtration before bottling.A beautiful deep colour, a nose of black fruits, spices and slightly woody. Ample and tonic in the mouth, powerful tannins but already very molten with blackcurrant, chocolate and praline, grea length and freshness. Surprising : Quintessential of the Auvergne for sure! Quintessential of Gamay! Probably. Blind, it's difficult to say where you are? The freshness of the north, and the power of the south. We're on the Piedmont plateau... in France. To be adopted without hesitation!
