Commanderie de la Bargemone
13760 Saint Cannat - Provence
La Bargemone estate extends over 150 hectares, 66 of which have vines: 56 hectares of red varieties and 10 ha of white. The careful selection of different varieties, Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon, gives these wines specific qualities and remarkable consistency. After being created by Templars in the 13th century, the property belonged to the Count of Baux, the Arbaud de Bargemon family, then to Thomassin Bargemon, from whom comes the name Bargemone. Jean-Pierre Rozan bought the La Commanderie de la Bargemone estate in 1968 and replanted the vines. In 2006, a new partnership between the Rozan and Garin families added dynamism and impetus to sales of the new vintages. Our desire to farm the environment and the vine is what drives us, naturally, towards organic production. Organic production is a production system that excludes the use of chemical fertilisers, synthetic pesticides and GMO and limits the use of inputs. The whole La Bargemone estate is being converted to organic production and is currently in the transition phase between conventional farming and organic farming. We have chosen the Qualisud certification for our monitoring, inspection and audit, this organisation is accredited by the COFRAC (The French Committee for Accreditation).
