Jean-Michel Bergeron, owner of the Château Haut La Valette, has preserved and developed his estate by expanding the surface area and using farming techniques worthy of being perpetuated. In 2000, he expanded the estate when he took over the vineyard of his father, Alban, making a total family estate today of 22 ha. It is located in hilly landscapes, benefiting from the proximity to the Gironde estuary that is so favourable to it. The vineyard is planted on soil that is mostly clay-limestone, with sandy-clay and red clay soils in addition. It benefits from south and south-west facing slopes. The vine population includes Merlot Noir, Malbec and Cabernets, gives red wines that are appreciated for their roundness and flavour, and can be drunk throughout a meal. In September 2008, Cédric joined the business in order to sustain, drive and continue the expertise.
