On a little Vaucluse hill, Coquillade Village*****, committed to wine tourism, is located in the heart of vineyards and offers a magnificent panorama over the Luberon, its villages, and Mont Ventoux, in the heart of the Natural Regional Park of Luberon. Since the 13th century, generations of vine-growers have produced wine here. It is here that this same passion for wine led these Swiss citizens, in love with Provence, to take over this wine-growing business.
La Coquillade, today the Hotel Relais & Châteaux***** has 3 restaurants, a spa, a test centre for BMC bicycles and the AURETO Vineyards, whose first vintage was made in 2007.
The emphasis is placed on using sustainable and integrated vine growing methods and controlling yields. The wines are AOP (Protected Designation of Origin) Ventoux and Luberon, as well as IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) Vaucluse.
AURETO, which means light breeze in Provençal, has named its vintages after the winds of the south of France (Autan, Maestrale, Tramontane, etc.).
