Désiré Estrade, our grandfather, and his sons, came from Lamtar, near Oran in Algeria, to Fourcès in 1962. Thanks to them, our estate is what it is today. With hard work, they cleared the soils, replanted the entire vineyard et constructed wineries in order to produce high quality wines as independent winemakers.
Thanks to them, Rémy and Éric can now lean on the strong foundatins to produce top-range wines from Gascogne for your own pleasure.
The alliance between tradition and modernity is our direction, just like our grandfather back in the day, it is still with the same determination that we pursue the development of the Laxé estate nowadays, by cultivating our wines in our wineries et by selling them in the entire world.
We do everything in our power to offer you the best quality possible and make you enjoy our production from the plantation to the bottle.
Our vineyard covers a total surface area of 90 acre, spreads on plates and clayey and chalky hillsides, strong and profound soils where everything can be cultivated and which garanties a consistancy between dry years and humid ones. The climate of this part of Gascogne is a mild climate, with a perfect raininess for the vine, not too much like in the West getting closer to the ocean nor too little like in the East department, with nice autumns which allow us to refine the maturities et to harvest in perfect conditions.
This chemistry makes of this sector between Montréal du Gers, Condom et Mézin, one of the most beautiful and covetted terroirs of the region where quality and volumes are often paired, capable to produce pleasure wines but also big White and red wines from Gascogne.
