Languedoc-Roussillon WineThe history of Maison Calmel & Joseph began in 1995. Laurent Calmel, oenologist and Jérôme Joseph, came together with a shared desire: to produce great quality wines. Together, they joined with various wine-makers in the region to propose a wide range of wines. Domaine Calmel & Joseph, a former Languedoc small holding, can welcome visitors with four self-catering cottages... for a holiday surrounded by nature. In the heart of the estate, which produces wines and olives, you will experience the rhythm of the workhorse and vine work. Nestling in a valley in the heart of the Val de Dagne, a foothill of the Hautes Corbières, it offers stunning views over the Montagne Noire and Alaric. There are spectacular landscapes, just several minutes from the walled city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. The flora and fauna finds its full expression in an environment that we both respect and preserve. To make the most of it, have a go at the various activities such as cycling, swimming, sauna in the tower and also hikes and horse rides... Otherwise, relax into the rhythm of the south and the evenings, under the light of lanterns, when the temperature falls, is an ideal time to do some wine tasting and try some local Mediterranean products on the terraces overlooking the countryside.
Our wines
villa blanche chardonnay
Clear and pale green in colour. Very expressive with aromas of white flowers, fruits such as apricot and vine peaches and notes of dried fruits. It is honest and clean in the mouth, full and well balanced. The finish is fresh and fruity with notes of mango and citrus. The woodiness is well-blended and subtle. This elegant vintage is pleasantly : taut.

The colour is purple-red, the nose is powerful, spicy and very ethereal, with citrus notes. It is taut in the mouth, with an excellent subtle and silky consistency. A delicate mix of maturity and freshness brings notes of juniper and cistus to this wine. The balance of this wine makes it very promising and it serves a few years of ageing to reach its peak.

Purple-red colour. The nose is fruity with black fruits and spice and aromas of bay leaf, pepper and thyme. It is full and well-rounded in the mouth with a long finish. The excellent consistency of the tannins remains fine whilst still being full-bodied. This wine is well-balanced and very delicious. Very pleasant on its own or with a meal.

Ruby-red colour. The nose is very intense with a touch of pencil tip on the first nose then switching to aromas of garrigue, mint and fennel. The attack in the mouth is honest and clean and the tannins are discernible. Spices dominate the palate. This wine still retains its strong identity, full of finesse and elegance.
