Located in the Loire, in the largest wine-growing village in the area whose vineyards extend over more than 650 ha, our domain, Clos du Porteau, has been cultivating and vinifying since the 15th century, offering a great diversity of products. For 800 years, the family has perpetrated a winegrowing tradition in Touraine. After engineering and oenology studies, in addition to significant experiences in Bordeaux, in Champagne and in Provence, I decided to take over the estate, trying to combine both modernity and tradition. Modernity, by a concern for expending biodiversity in the vineyards and working for a sustainable viticulture. But also tradition, by looking for more original wines, closer from the very first Georgian winemaking: free of sulphur wines, naturally sparkling ones, orange wines, delimited vines, gravitational vinification, etc. Passionate by beekeeping, I also grew an apiary at home. Bees are a relevant research marker for biodiversity, that we are trying to develop.
