Bordeaux WineOur Fronsac and Bordeaux Supérieur vineyards have some things in common: the authenticity of the vine terroirs, great locations to ensure optimum ripening and therefore, they conform to the “typicality” so revered in our wines. Four generations of wine-growers since 1955 have transferred a passion for hard work and a desire to produce original, generous wines of great class, for the enjoyment of all. Bottling is done exclusively in our châteaus and is a testimony of the trust that our customers place in us.

cuvée pillebourse
The “Pillebourse” cuvée from Château Virecourt offers a selection from the château's best terroirs. “Pillebourse” is a tiny place that, long ago, used to be a staging post where travellers were regularly robbed and their purses (bourses) stolen (pillées), so they say!

The 2015 is a deep purple, almost black, in colour with an intense complex bouquet of : vanilla, earthiness, strawberry and toast. The tannins are silky in the mouth, well-rounded and powerful too. It develops elegantly and harmoniously and the aromatic persistence is shown to be worthy of the greatest vintages. 52 to 3 years of storage).
