Champagne Bauget-Jouette is a family estate that dates back to more than five generations of winemakers (1822) from the region of Coteaux Sud d’Epernay. Bades in Epernay, the capital of Champagne, the Bauget-Jouette brand developed under the leadership of Gaston and Suzanne Bauget (née Jouette). The vineyard currently spreads on 12,5 hectares and extends mainly on the Coteaux Sud d’Epernay, the Sézannais, the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs (Premier Cru). The diversity and uniqueness of these historic terroirs, spread over a little more than thirty parcels of land, make it possible to produce a range of Champagnes mainly assembled with the Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grape varieties. The Pinot Noir present on fewer surfaces and of smaller size is represented in limited assemblies. A large part of the vineyard benefits from grass growing with the short-term goal of completely getting rid of the use of herbicide treatments (glyphosate) and will soon be certified HEV (High Environmental Value). All the pressing, vinification and bottling operations are carried out in Epernay in a historic property dating from the late 19th century. The wines benefit from a partial ageing in barrels and a long ageing after disgorging.
