Domaine Dischler: five generations of committed winemakers in Alsace

In Alsace, some estates move fast.
Others move right.
Domaine Dischler clearly belongs to the second category.

Based in Wolxheim, just a few kilometers from Strasbourg, the estate has remained in the same family since 1850—five generations of winemakers driven by the same standard: producing authentic wines, faithful to their terroirs and respectful of the living world.

Today, André Dischler and his wife Nathalie Dischler continue this legacy with a clear, modern and deeply responsible vision.

An Alsatian vineyard rich in terroirs and diversity

Domaine Dischler farms 9.5 hectares of vines, spread across 18 parcels in the communes of Wolxheim, Dahlenheim and Molsheim. This terroir mosaic is one of the estate’s greatest strengths.

Among the most emblematic named sites:

Rothstein, with red stones from Vosges sandstone

Les Carrières Royales, marked by a strong mineral identity

Bruderthal, in Molsheim

Altenberg de Wolxheim, an exceptional terroir where the estate’s Riesling Grand Cru—its signature specialty—is born

Each soil type and exposure offers a different reading of the grape variety.

The seven Alsace grape varieties, worked with precision

The estate grows all seven emblematic Alsatian grape varieties:

Riesling - Gewurztraminer - Pinot Gris - Pinot Noir - Pinot Blanc / Auxerrois - Sylvaner - Muscat

This diversity allows Domaine Dischler to offer a complete range of structured, elegant and expressive wines, where balance always comes before showmanship.

Organic, natural and coherent viticulture

Long committed to an environmentally respectful approach, André and Nathalie Dischler practice a natural form of vine growing based on prevention, cover crops and close observation.

The estate is:

certified organic since 2022

also committed to HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) level 3

Soil work is central: mechanical hoeing, hilling-up, de-hilling, subsoiling… all precise interventions designed to preserve soil structure and vine health, without systematic reliance on treatments.

Here, technique serves life—never the other way around.

Grand Cru Altenberg de Wolxheim, the estate’s jewel

Located at the foot of the Horn rock, Grand Cru Altenberg de Wolxheim benefits from a very dry microclimate, at an altitude between 200 and 250 meters. Its remarkable exposure and complex soils make it an ideal terroir for Riesling, which develops tension, minerality and depth here.

A great terroir wine built for ageing—one of the estate’s signatures.

Independent Winemaker: a fully embraced philosophy

Domaine Dischler proudly holds Independent Winemaker status. This means:

growing its own vines

harvesting, vinifying, ageing and bottling at the estate

selling wines directly

welcoming visitors and sharing its passion

A complete commitment from vine to glass, ensuring sincere wines and a direct relationship with wine lovers.

Domaine Dischler: true Alsace, without detours

Choosing a wine from Domaine Dischler means choosing:

a family know-how passed down for over 170 years

demanding organic viticulture

expressive, identity-driven Alsatian terroirs

elegant, structured and deeply authentic wines

Bottles that tell the story of their soil, their climate—and the people who farm them.

How does the diversity of Alsatian terroirs, from sandstone to limestone, influence the minerality and structure of Alsace’s great organic white wines ?
