How do you decant a wine?
Some wines are worth decanting to release their aromas before being tasted. You can attempt this experience by yourself, just simply open a bottle, pour yourself a glass and sniff it.
Swirl it around, then sniff it again. If you notice a strong presence of aromas, this means that it is better to decant it. For this, you need a very flared decanter, so that the wine can breathe and release the maximum amount of aromas.
Take the bottle of wine and pour it inside. The wine will then flow down the sides of the decanter. When you have finished pouring the bottle into it, you will notice that the wine's surface area is much larger, so it can breathe better than when constricted in the bottle. All you need to do now is pour yourself a glass. Cheers!
