Located in the commune of Cars, in the Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, Château Magdeleine-Bouhou is an estate of 17 ha of vines planted on clay-limestone terroir. This is an ideal terroir for Merlot, which represents 65% of the vine population. There is also 25% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are grown using sustainable and integrated vine growing methods. The vineyard combines biological, physical and farming methods that respect the life of the soil and bans any chemical weed management. Wine-making by separate plots is carried out in small concrete vats that are thermoregulated to preserve the fruit's expression and the specifics of the terroir. Supported by Stephane Derenoncourt since 2010, various work undertaken both on the vines and in the winery, has enabled the company to improve the level of the wines produced, making them a jewel of the appellation, offering wines that are full of freshness, finesse and charm.
